Track & Field Teams Meet Tough Competition in Champaign

CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – The men battled powerful Illinois, Georgia, Iowa and Wisconsin, while the women went head-to-head with Illinois and Georgia. The men finished fifth and the women fell to Illinois and Georgia. Senior Valerij Petrulevich finished third in the 800-meters with a time of 1:53.02, just one second behind his school record he set last season.
Senior Jenna Grimaldi took top honors in the high jump with a mark of 5-07. Senior Leah Folmsbee won the 3,000 meters with a personal best time of 10:17.32. Sophomore Shelby Perkins finished behind Folmsbee with a career best time of 10:19.51. Freshman Kathleen Sanborn took top honors in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:17.64. Freshman Brittany Pryor took second in the shot put with a throw of 46-10.00.
Sophomore Aulton Kohn finished third in the 60-meters and second in the 200-meters, with times of 6.90 and 22.13. Junior Chris Muldoon finished third in the mile run with a time of 4:09.82.
The Orange hosts the SU Invitational on February 5-6 at Manley Field House.
