SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- Former Orange standout Donovan McNabb, of the Philadelphia Eagles, headlines the NFC Pro Bowl roster, his fifth straight trip to the Pro Bowl. Indianapolis Colt’s stars Marvin Harrison and Dwight Freeney highlight an all-star AFC roster. It is Harrison’s sixth consecutive Pro Bowl and Freeney’s second straight.
McNabb is making his fifth consecutive Pro Bowl appearance and ranks third in the NFL, second in the NFC, with 31 touchdown passes this year. He is 300-for-469 for 3,875 yards and has only thrown eight interceptions. He has a passer rating of 104.7. McNabb set career-bests with 464 yards and five touchdowns in a Monday Night win against Green Bay. He also set an NFL record by completing 24 consecutive passes.
Harrison, the AFC’s leading vote-getter at receiver among fans with 722,477 votes, made his sixth consecutive Pro Bowl. He leads the Colts with 86 receptions for 1,113 yards receiving this season and has 15 touchdown receptions.
Freeney leads the NFL with 16 sacks and makes his second consecutive Pro Bowl appearance. He had 13 sacks as a rookie and 11 last season. This year he recorded three sacks in back-to-back victories over Tennessee and Houston. He is the first defensive player in the Colts’ 21 seasons in Indianapolis to make two or more Pro Bowls, and is the first Colts defensive player since defensive end John Dutton (1976-1977) to make the Pro Bowl in back-to-back seasons.
