SYRACUSE, N.Y. - Head coach Kris Sanford and the women's rowing team recently particpated in its annual holiday charity event at the Carousel Center. The team wrapped presents at the mall with all proceeds earned going to the Home for the Bereaved, the National Council for Negro Women, and the Vera House.
Over 40 members of the squad wrapped presents to help these organizations over the holiday season. Student-athletes donated their time last Saturday and today.
"It is fun for the kids as it puts them in the Christmas spirit while helping out three very worthy, important organizations," Sanford said. "As a team, we believe in helping out in the community when we have the time, and this is perfect for us."
Sanford and the Orange rowers travel to Austin Texas in January for its winter training trip before returning to action in the spring.
