The Syracuse men's basketball has played six times in the Carrier Dome on December 7 throughout the past 25 years. The Orange has a perfect 6-0 record in those games.
Syracuse claimed two Carrier Classic titles on this date. In 1991, Adrian Autry scored with three seconds remaining to give Syracuse a 72-70 victory against St. Joseph's for its 13th Carrier Classic title. SU also won the 1985 title on this date as Wendell Alexis scored 23 points in the Orange's 89-67 win against Navy.
Two of the six games SU has played on this date were in the first round of the Carrier Classic. In 1990, Syracuse defeated Alaska-Anchorage, 103-85, and in 1984, SU defeated Maine, 84-65.
The Orange has faced two Central New York foes on December 7 in the Carrier Dome. Stephen Thompson led SU to a 95-59 win against Cornell in 1987. Thompson scored a game-high 21 points against the Big Red. In 1999, SU defeated Albany, 86-46.
In 1995, the Carrier Classic dinner was held in the Dome to welcome the participating teams in that year's tournament.
