The Carrier Dome has hosted five Syracuse men's basketball games, one concert and the football appreciation dinner on this date during the past 25 years.
The men's hoops squad has a 4-1 record on this date in the Dome. Its only defeat was an 82-68 loss to North Carolina State in 2001. Preston Shumpert scored 29 points and Jeremy McNeil pulled down a career-best 13 rebounds.
The Orange has won three Carrier Classic titles on this date. SU won the 1984 title with a 68-58 win against Lamar. Sherman Douglas scored 22 points in the Orange's 83-76 win against Cornell in 1984. In 1990, Syracuse topped UNC Charlotte, 113-99 in the championship game. John Wallace scored 27 points to lead the Orange to an 83-60 win against Columbia in its first-round game of the 1995 Carrier Classic.
In 1994, the Mick Jagger and the Rolling Stones performed in front of 36,730 fans in the Dome.
