Syracuse sophomore attacker Molly Guzik has been named ACC Offensive Player of the Week, the league announced Tuesday.
The honor follows a six-goal performance in last week's 9-6 road victory over then-No. 4 Northwestern — a new career-high — and comes after she was tabbed USA Lacrosse Magazine's Division I Player of the Week. Guzik accounted for six of Syracuse's nine goals in the win, bringing her season total to 23. She has scored three or more goals in four of the Orange's last five games and ranks fifth in the ACC at 2.88 goals per game.
Her offensive output has helped the Orange to a five-game winning streak to bring Syracuse's record to 5-3 overall and 3-2 in ACC-play. Guzik and the Orange return to action Tuesday against No. 7 Yale at the JMA Wireless Dome. The contest against the Bulldogs is set to air on ESPNU.
