O'Connell Named Scholar-Athlete of the Week for Feb. 21

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Junior Meghan O’Connell (Camillus, N.Y.) on the women’s lacrosse team, has been honored as the Syracuse University Scholar-Athlete of the Week for the week of Feb. 21.
O’Connell was a BIG EAST Academic All-Star selection in 2004. She started all 15 games last season for the Orange, scoring a career-high three goals against both Connecticut and Rutgers. She is majoring in physical education at Syracuse.
The women’s lacrosse team begins its season against Albany on Sunday, Feb. 27, at 12:00 p.m. in the Carrier Dome.
