Orange Closes Successful SU Invite

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – The Orange track and field teams concluded a successful weekend of events at Manley Field House on Sunday highlighted by freshman Brittany Pryor’s NCAA provisional mark in the shot put with a throw of 51-0.25. Sophomore Aulton Kohn took top honors in the 60-meter dash with a mark of 6.89, his fourth win in five tries.
Junior Christen Tucker placed second in the 60-meter dash with a time of 7.84. Senior Valerie Boling took second place in the 400-meters with a time of 57.35. Senior Leah Folmsbee finished second in the mile with a time of 5:10.43 and sophomore Kelly Pimm came in behind her in third with a time of 5:13.22. Freshman Kathleen Sanborn took second in the 1,000-meter run with a time of 2:58.99. Sophomore Shelby Perkins recorded a personal best time of 18:24.94 in the 5,000-meter run and finished first. Senior Jenna Grimaldi took first in the high jump with a mark of 5-07. Sophomore Jessyca Jackson took first in the pole vault with a mark of 11-09.75, beating her SU indoor record she set earlier this season. Junior Tatiana Warren finished second in the long jump with a mark of 18-10.25 and first in the triple jump with a mark of 38-02.75. Pryor also finished fourth in the weight throw with a toss of 54-08.75. Junior Kristen Michalski took second in the weight throw with a mark of 58-01.00. Sophomore Kyra James recorded a personal best in the weight throw with a mark of 51-09.00.
Kohn also took top honors in the 200-meters with a time of 21.84 and freshman Ramon Sosa finished second in 22.76 seconds. Sosa recorded a first-place finish in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 8.35. Junior Chris Muldoon and sophomore Matt Lawson took first and second in the mile with times of 4:15.30 and 4:16.71, respectively. Sophomore David Wishart took second in the 5,000-meters with a time of 15:23.18. Junior Craig Stivala finished first in the pole vault with a personal best mark of 15-03.00.
The Orange returns to action on Feb. 12 at the Bison Winter Classic at Bucknell University, before hosting the BIG EAST Championships on Feb. 19-20 at the Carrier Dome.
