SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Syracuse head track and field coach Andrew Roberts has been appointed to the NCAA Division I Men’s and Women’s Track and Field Committee. Roberts will begin his four-year appointment on Sept. 1 of this year.
“It is an honor to be appointed to the committee,” Roberts said. “First of all, I want to get a full understanding, in my mind, of my responsibilities and do all I can to help the coaches and the NCAA. I want to do all I can to represent Syracuse University and the SU athletic department to the best of my ability.”
Roberts will be one of 24 voting members on the committee. The committee includes administrators and coaches from all divisions and subdivisions of the NCAA. Some of the general duties of a committee member are selecting teams and individuals for the cross country, indoor and outdoor championships; assigning officials; serving as the NCAA representative at regional events; attending the championships; and assisting in preparation of championship schedule and other event preparation.
