CORAL GABLES, Fla.—Senior Joshua Johnson took top honors in the triple jump at the Hurricane Invitational with a jump of 14.62 meters. Sophomore Sheron Mark took first place in the heptathlon with 4,734 points, while freshman Jillian Drouin finished in second with 4,625 points.
Senior Jenna Grimaldi tied for second in the high jump with a mark of 1.74 meters. Sophomore Kristen Lunetta took third place in the javelin with a throw of 37.64 meters. Freshman Brittany Pryor finished fourth in both the shot put and hammer throw with throws of 14.15 meters and 49.47 meters, respectively. Sophomore Brienne Karow took sixth place in the discus with a throw of 43.33 meters.
Junior Chris Muldoon finished second in the 1,500 meters with a time of 3:54.89, while senior Valerij Petrulevich finished just behind Muldoon in third place, 3:56.08. Sophomore Aulton Kohn took his indoor success outside, he finished third in the 100-meter dash with a time of 10.68 seconds. Junior Brien Flewelling took third place in the high jump clearing 1.94 meters. Sophomore Daniel Pribula finished third in the shot put with a throw of 15.71 meters. Freshman Ramon Sosa took fifth in the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 14.80 seconds.
The Orange returns to action on March 25-26 at the Raleigh Relays in North Carolina.
