Orange fans are visiting suathletics.com at a record-setting pace this year for the most up-to-date information on Syracuse University athletics. The website surpassed its previous annual (August-July) page view record in January with 16.9 million page views since August 1, 2004. Through May 1, the website has had 24.8 million page views, surpassing last year’s previous record of 16.6 million.

In addition, the site has had a record number of visits. Since August 1, 2004, the site has received 4.1 million visits. The previous yearly record was 3.2 million from August 1, 2002 through July 31, 2003. SUAthletics.com has set monthly records for page views in eight of the nine months of this school year, including an all-time high of 4.4 million in November, 2004. The lone exception was April when the site had 1.8 million page views which trailed the 2.1 million page views in April, 2003, following Syracuse’s first men’s basketball national championship.

Since August, 2004, suathletics.com has averaged 3.7 million page views and 194,000 unique visitors per month.

Highlights from the website this year include the live video broadcast of the press conferences announcing Dr. Daryl Gross as SU’s ninth Director of Athletics and Greg Robinson as the new football head coach. The site included special pages for Hakim Warrick and Gerry McNamara that chronicled their 2004-05 seasons. Another popular feature on the site is live in-game stats for SU’s home football, men’s and women’s basketball and softball games. Fans also could view photo galleries from events such as ESPN’s visit to the Carrier Dome for its College Basketball GameDay live show and SU’s men’s basketball senior day.

Recent additions to the site include video highlights and a section for fans to purchase season tickets for the 2005 football season.

The suathletics.com website launched in August of 1999. In its first year, the site had 1.8 million page views.
