Downing Named SU Scholar-Athlete of the Week

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Sophomore Karlyn Downing of the women’s rowing team, has been honored as the Syracuse University Scholar-Athlete of the Week for the week of May 2.
Downing is a two-time Athletic Director’s Honor Roll selection. She was also selected as a 2003-04 BIG EAST Academic All-Star. Downing is majoring in health and exercise science at Syracuse.
This past weekend, Downing rowed in the three-seat of the junior varsity eight that defeated Massachusetts.
Syracuse next competes at Eastern Sprints on Sunday, May 15 in Camden, N.J.
