
Trips to California and Kentucky Highlight 2005 Field Hockey Schedule

SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- The 2005 Syracuse University field hockey schedule was announced recently. The slate features a season-opening trip out west to play the likes of Pacific, Stanford and California. SU will play new BIG EAST Conference member Louisville on the road on Sept. 25, and will take on St. Louis while its out there.
Pacific and Connecticut are the two teams on the schedule who qualified for the 2004 NCAA Field Hockey Tournament. The Orange plays Pacific at Cal in the 2005 season opener on Sept. 2. SU meets Connecticut on its home turf of Coyne Field on Oct. 23.
The 2005 BIG EAST Conference Championship will be contested at Rutgers University. Syracuse will play 10 home games. In addition to UConn, the Orange will face Kent, William & Mary, Rutgers, Hofstra, Massachusetts, Villanova, Quinnipiac, Cornell and Dartmouth at home. The team's first conference game is against Rutgers on Sept. 16.
