SU, State Fair Join For Special Ticket Offer

SYRACUSE, NY -- Syracuse University and the New York State Fair have joined forces to offer a special money-saving admission package for the West Virgina football home opener and the upcoming New York State Fair.
Fans who purchase a regular admission adult ticket to the Sunday, September 4 opening football game of the Coach Greg Robinson era will receive a free admission ticket good any day of this year’s 2005 New York State Fair. SU game tickets are $32 each. This offer is good only on individual game adult tickets purchased through the Dome ticket office, the internet (www.suathletics.com) and at the Fair Box Office. Additionally, individual SU football tickets for all home games will be on sale at the Fair Box Office. These tickets will be available through the conclusion of the Fair.
“A renewed community spirit of cooperation and enthusiasm prompted discussion on both our parts to determine how more can be done to energize these special events since they occur during the same time frame. We thought a dual admission package – see the football game and enjoy the Fair - and the utilization of our convenient box office for SU ticket sales made sense, “ Fair Director Peter Cappuccilli, Jr. said, in making the announcement.
“We anticipate such a great football season that we do not want anyone to miss out on the first home game and it is imperative that the game is sold out. With that in mind, knowing that the great New York State Fair exists at the same time, we want both of our constituents to have that opportunity to do both. What better way for the people of Syracuse to enjoy this time of the year than to be able to go to the Fair and to see the Orange play West Virginia in the new Greg Robinson era. We think this is a fantastic package that everyone should take advantage of and we embrace it as we embrace this entire community of Syracuse in providing wonderful entertainment and family fun.” Syracuse Athletic Director Daryl Gross said.
Tickets will go on sale at all locations on August 3. The Fair Ticket Office is open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. – 5:30 p.m., while the Dome Ticket Office hours are 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. Purchasers will receive two separate tickets – one for the SU- West Virginia football game and one for the Fair. The Fair ticket can be used any day during the 12-day run – August 25 through September 5.
Kickoff for the nationally-televised SU-West Virginia game is 1:30 p.m.
