Women's Soccer to Host Binghamton

SYRACUSE, N.Y.- The SU women’s soccer team will host Binghamton University on Thursday at 7 p.m. at the SU Soccer Stadium. The Orange enters Thursday’s game with a record of 1-1-0 after beating Hartford, 3-1, in its home opener on Sunday afternoon.
Scoring goals for the Orange versus Hartford were Lauren Jentzen (Marshfield, Mass./Marshfield), Jen Taormina (Liverpool, N.Y./Liverpool) and Molly McManus (Binghamton, N.Y./Seton Catholic). Amanda Arcuri (New City, N.Y./Clarkstown) had a pair of assists in the game, while Samantha Hawn (Spencerport, N.Y./Spencerport) and Nikki Spartano (Syracuse, N.Y./Nottingham) each contributed with an assist. Emily Kowalczyk (Dayton, Ohio/Centerville) picked up the win in goal making one save.
The Bearcats of Binghamton come into Thursday’s game with a record of 1-0-1 after beating Long Island University, 1-0, Sunday. Danielle White scored the game-winning goal for the Bearcats in the shutout victory over LIU.
Syracuse leads the all-time series with Binghamton 2-0-0. The last meeting between the two teams resulted in a 7-1 victory for the Orange in 2003 at the SU Soccer Stadium.
The Orange will be looking to inch one step closer to reaching the 100-win milestone as the program stands at 97 wins all-time since it began in 1996. Since the ’96 inaugural season the Orange has compiled an all-time record of 97-67-10.
Action will kickoff at 7 p.m. at the SU Soccer Stadium. Admission is free to all spectators.
