Orange Looks to go 2-0 in BIG EAST

SYRACUSE, N.Y.- Syracuse returns to BIG EAST play Friday night when it plays host to BIG EAST Division A opponent West Virginia at 7 p.m. at the SU Soccer Stadium. It will be SU’s first home game since Sept. 5 as the Orange has played four consecutive road games.
SU comes into Friday’s game with a record of 2-5-2 after tying Colgate, 0-0, Wednesday night. Candice Hofmann made her first career start in goal against Colgate becoming just the second goaltender in SU history to record a shutout in their first career game.
SU will be looking for win number 99 on Friday as the SU women’s soccer program has played to an all-time record of 98-71-11. This is the 10th season of women’s soccer at SU as well as at West Virginia.
West Virginia comes into Friday’s game with a record of 3-3-2 after playing to two ties against William & Mary and Richmond last weekend. Friday’s game with wrap-up the Mountaineers’ run of five straight road games.
Action begins at 7 p.m. on Friday with free admission for all fans.
