Join the SU Football pre-game "Team March" Saturday on the Quad

The SU Quad is the place to be for fans of all ages prior to SU’s game against Buffalo this Saturday (9/10) and prior to each home football game this fall. The Excellus BlueCross BlueShield Football Fun Zone will open at 12:30 p.m. (three hours prior to kickoff). Syracuse hosts the University of Buffalo at 3:30 p.m. Tickets are available online (click here) or at the Carrier Dome Box Office (1-888-DOMEITX).
The events on the quad will begin with the Football “Team March” at 1:00 p.m. Fans are encouraged to join the band and spirit squads in lining the pathway from University Place to the Carrier Dome to welcome head coach Greg Robinson and the 2005 Syracuse Orange as they head to the “Loud House.”
The “Pride of the Orange” SU Marching Band will hold a pre-game concert on the steps of Hendricks Chapel. SU’s cheerleaders and dance team will also perform on the Quad prior to the game.
On Saturday, representatives from “Hometown Heroes” will be accepting items from fans wishing to send them overseas to members of our armed forces and Michael Carter will be on hand to draw free football themed caricatures. Fans are encouraged to bring items needed by sailors, Marines, soldiers and airmen in Iraq. The short list includes: New unopened CDs and DVDs, especially the latest releases; underarmor T-shirts (green, tan and dark blue); Tuna Fish, especially the type in the soft packets; Non-cotton sport socks (available at Dick's Sporting Goods); Spices, BBQ Sauce and anything to spice-up the usual MRE in the field; Pop Tarts; Ramen noodles; Cans of Vienna Sausage; Slim Jims; and Beef Jerky. Plastic, metal and cardboard are the preferred packaging for shipping. Please avoid anything packaged in glass because itis very difficult to ship items packaged in glass.
Fans on the Quad can also listen to the pregame broadcast on the Syracuse ISP Radio Network as “Voice of the Orange”, Matt Park, former SU head coach Dick MacPherson, and pregame host Kevin Maher preview the day’s match up. Fans can also enjoy inflatable games, product sampling and give-a-ways from Syracuse University corporate sponsors. Food and drink, including Dinosaur Barbeque, will also be available.
Parking lots and shuttle services to the Quad / College Place will be available from Skytop and Manley Field House beginnings three hours prior to kick-off.
