Syracuse will travel Loudonville to square off against the Siena Saints on Tuesday at 7 p.m. The match can be seen in Syracuse on Time Warner sports at 9 p.m.
Syracuse will travel Loudonville to square off against the Siena Saints on Tuesday at 7 p.m. The match can be seen in Syracuse on Time Warner sports at 9 p.m.
Syracuse will look to return to its winning ways following losses to Notre Dame and Marquette. The Orange won their previous four matches before its two recent losses. Syracuse owns a record of 7-18. The Saints are 12-10 and have won 10 of its last 13 matches. The two teams met earlier in the season at the Big Orange Tournament. The Orange was victorious, sweeping the Saints 3-0 (32-30, 30-17, 30-25).
October Success
Over the past two-plus seasons, Syracuse has thrived during the month of October. The Orange has posted a record of 24-2 in 2004, 2005 and 2006. Syracuse finished October 2004 with a record of 9-1 and October 2005 with a record of 12-1. SU is 3-0 so far in October 2006.

In a series that dates back to the 1979 season, the Orange hold a 16-1 all-time advantage over Saints. Siena won its first match in the series last season, defeating the Orange 3-2 (33-31, 14-30, 30-28, 11-30, 15-12). Syracuse rebounded with a victory earlier in 2006, defeating the Saints 3-0 (32-30, 30-17, 30-25). Cheryl Cobbina led the Orange with 15 kills and Joscie Kaup added 26 digs. Freshman Sarah Morton recorded seven total blocks, including five solo which is one shy of the SU record for a three-game match.
