Sophomore kicker Patrick Shadle is a SI.com Second-Team Midseason All-American. Shadle ranks among the nation's best in 2006, connecting on 10 of 11 field goals.
Shadle is tied for 12th in the nation and is second in the BIG EAST with 1.43 field goals per game. His 90.9 field goal percentage is also second in the conference and is the second-best mark in school history. Former All-American kicker Gary Anderson connected on 18 of 19 field goals in 1981 for a field goal percentage of 94.7, which is a former NCAA record. Shadle is tied for 68th in the nation and ninth in the conference with 6.6 points per game.
Shadle was named the BIG EAST Special Teams Player of the Week following his performance against Miami (OH). He recorded a career-best 10 points on two field goals and four extra points. He also was named to the BIG EAST Honor Roll after the Wyoming game where he once again posted 10 points on two field goals and four extra points.
Shadle and the Orange hosts #6/6 Louisville on Saturday at noon. The game will be broadcast on ESPN Regional Television. Orange fans can listen to the Syracuse ISP Sports Network broadcast on Orange All Access (click here) and the radio network. After the game, fans can watch the Orange All Access post-game show.
