Orange Claims Two Top Finishes at Red Fox Invitational

Poughkeepsie, N.Y.- The Syracuse men and women’s swimming and diving team competed at the Marist Red Fox Invitational on Friday, October 20. The Orange competed with Marist and Army. In the eight events held on Friday, the Orange took first place in two of them. Freshman Alex Taraskin placed first in the 1000 free with a time of 9:43.54. Syracuse also won the women’s 400 medley relay with a time of 4:00.74.
The Orange had other strong showings at the first day of the invitational. Sophomore Dani Stein placed second in the 200 IM (2:08.36). Syracuse also three top 10 finishes in the men’s 200 IM. Freshman Moshe Kohen placed fourth (1:58.27), followed by sophomore Peter Gollands (1:58.96) in fifth place and freshman Glen Kalata (1:59.90) in sixth.
The Red Fox Invitational concludes on Saturday.
