Downing Named Scholar-Athlete of the Week

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Senior Karlyn Downing, a member of the Orange women’s rowing team, has been honored as the Syracuse University Scholar-Athlete of the Week for the week of Oct. 30.
Downing, who hails Syracuse, N.Y., has been named to the Athletic Director’s Honor Roll seven times and the BIG EAST Academic All-Star Team three times. She was also named a CRCA National Scholar Athlete in 2006. Downing is majoring in health and exercise science.
The Orange wraps up its fall season on Saturday, hosting the Syracuse Invitational.
