ON THE ROAD AGAIN - SYRACUSE AT ST. PETER’S
IF I COULD BE LIKE MIKE
Freshman forward Nicole Michael has already made an immediate impact on the Orange season. She leads the team in scoring (14.3) and rebounding (6.7) and is second in assists (2.3). The freshman scored 17 and 21 points in SU’s last two games against Cornell and Lehigh. Michael also had seven and nine rebounds, respectively in the two games. In her last performance at Lehigh she scored 21 points on 8-of-16 (.500) shooting from the floor including 2-of-4 (.500) from behind the arch. She also led the team in rebounding with nine.
THREE-FOR-THREE
Junior guard Mary Joe Riley is making the most of her increased playing time. The junior has started the last two games and is second on the team in minutes (36.0). She has played 78 of the last 80 minutes. Riley is the lone Orange to hit the double-figure points mark in each of Syracuse’s first three games, scoring 10 at Penn State, 11 against Cornell and 10 at Lehigh. She is third on the team in points per game (10.3), steals (1.7) and free-throw percentage, hitting 62.5 percent (5-8) of her attempts.
AFTER FURTHER REVIEW
