Ithaca, N.Y. – Two-time defending BIG EAST Champion Aulton Kohn helped lead the Orange to a strong start to begin the 2006-07 season. Kohn set the Barton Hall record with a NCAA provisional mark and IC4A-qualifying time of 6.70 in the 60m dash. Kohn’s time was also .01 seconds off the school record set by Samuel Okantey in 1999 (6.69).

Kohn set the Barton Hall record with a NCAA provisional mark and IC4A-qualifying time of 6.70 in the 60m dash. Kohn’s time was also .01 seconds off the school record set by Samuel Okantey in 1999 (6.69).
Kohn was one of three Syracuse men to earn IC4A-qualifying marks. Sophomore Michael LeBlanc finished third in the 60m dash with a qualifying time of 6.92. Senior Dan Pribula placed second in the shot put with a distance of 16.13m.
Senior Jake Puusalu finished second in the 500m dash, recording a time of 1:06.37. Sophomore Mike Chirto (4,437 points) and freshman Andrew DiOrio (3,800 points) finished second and third, respectively, in the heptathlon.
On the women’s side, junior Jillian Drouin placed second in the 60m hurdles (9.01) and fourth in the long jump (5.33m). Senior Kyra James finished second in the shot put (12.62m) and third in the weight throw (14.61m).
The track and field teams resume action on January 12 when the Orange hosts the Syracuse Welcome Back.
