Boral, Taraskin Highlight Day One at Nutmeg Invitatiional

Syracuse, N.Y.-The Syracuse swimming and diving team claimed three first place finishes at the first day of the Yale Nutmeg Invitational on Saturday, December 2. The invitational is a non-team scored event.
Senior Luk Boral (Poznan, Poland) won the 200 IM by more than two seconds with his best time of the season (1:55.91). Freshman Alex Taraskin (Moscow, Russia) placed first in the 500 free (4:36.90) for the Orange. Boral and Taraskin teamed with junior Tom Nowakowski (Syracuse, N.Y.) and sophomore Matt Brock (Jacksonville, Fla.) to finish secodn in the 200 free relay (1:27.25).
Freshman Carolyn Delkus (barre, Ontario), sophomore Sarah Manning (Manlius, N.Y.), freshman Katelyn Schumacher (Irvine, Calif.) and senior Randi Beaulieu (Mississauga, Ontario) comprised the 200 free relay team that placed first (1:39.24). Delkus also came in 12th in the 500 free (25.47). Sophomore Dani Stein (Ballston Lake, N.Y.) placed sixth in the 200 IM (2:12.80).
The Nutmeg Invitational concludes on Sunday.
