Persico Named Scholar-Athlete of the Week

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Senior Rob Persico, a member of the Orange men’s swimming and diving team, has been honored as the Syracuse University Scholar-Athlete of the Week for the week of Feb. 27.
Persico, who hails from Fulton, Md., has been named to the Athletic Director’s Honor Roll four times at SU and was a BIG EAST Academic All-Star. He was recently named a 2005-06 BIG EAST/Aéropostale Male Scholar-Athlete Award winner. Persico is a communication and rhetorical studies major at Syracuse.
SU recently competed in the BIG EAST Championship on Feb. 15-18 with the men finishing in eighth place overall.
