Four Former Orange Football Student-Athletes Take Part In NFL Business Management And Entrepreneurial Program

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Kyle Johnson of the Denver Broncos, Donovin Darius of the Jacksonville Jaguars, Keith Bulluck of the Tennessee Titans, and James Mungro of the Indianapolis Colts are all taking part in the NFL’s Business Management and Entrepreneurial Program. The four former Orange stars are four of 120 current and former NFL players taking part in the program.
The program is designed to assist players prepare for their post-playing careers. In the program’s first year of existence in 2005, 66 NFL players participated in workshops at the Harvard Business School and the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
Johnson (Class of 2001) and Darius ('97) will participate in the workshop at the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University. Bulluck ('99)will take part in the event at the Harvard Business School, and Mungro ('01) will attend at the Wharton School in Philadelphia.
Player enrollment criteria include level of education, professional business experience, interest in starting, owning, or managing a business, leadership, and community involvement.
Johnson finished the regular season with 17 catches for 160 yards, four rushes for nine yards, and five touchdowns. The Broncos reached the AFC title game after defeating defending Super Bowl Champion New England, 27-13.
Johnson registered 469 rushing yards in his Orange career to go along with eight touchdowns. He also caught 13 passes for 116 yards and two touchdowns.
Mungro recorded seven rushes for 15 yards with three catches for 28 yards in 2005. The Colts historic season came to an end with a 21-18 loss against the Pittsburgh Steelers in the playoffs. Indianapolis was the first team since the 1998 Broncos to start a season 13-0. Current Orange head coach Greg Robinson served as the defensive coordinator of that squad that went on to win the Super Bowl.In his Orange career, Mungro ran for 2,869 yards and 29 touchdowns. He also caught 36 passes for 306 yards and two touchdowns. His rushing total ranks fourth all-time on the SU rushing list. He also shares the Orange record with four-consecutive 100-yard games. Mungro’s 29 trips to the endzone is third all-time.

Darius played in just two games before suffering a season-ending ACL injury. He finished with six tackles, including five solo stops. Darius’ Jaguars lost to New England in the wild card round of the NFL playoffs, 28-3.
While at Syracuse, Darius totaled 379 tackles, which is tops all-time for defensive backs. He also compiled 12 interceptions in his four seasons on the Hill, which is tied for fifth all-time. He had seven picks in the 1997 season, which is tied for the second most in a single year.
Bulluck recorded 138 tackles, including 102 solo stops, and had five sacks for the Titans last season. Tennessee finished with a 4-12 record. At Syracuse, Bulluck recorded the eighth-most tackles in school history with 375. His 252 solo tackles ranks fifth all-time at SU. He led the Orange in tackles two times, in 1998 and 1999. In his senior season, he compiled 138 tackles, including 90 solo, 11 tackles for a loss, two sacks, six pass break ups, and two fumble recoveries.Bryan Blair Interview
