EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. – The New York Giants announced the signing of former Syracuse football standout Quentin Harris to a two-year deal yesterday. Harris spent four years with the Arizona Cardinals and has played in every game for the Cardinals in the past three seasons.
Harris totaled 39 tackles, including 30 solo stops at Arizona in 2005. Twenty-four of those tackles came on special teams, where Harris is expected to make an immediate impact with the Giants. He also recorded three passes defended.
In his four-year NFL career, Harris has compiled 85 tackles, including 72 solo stops. He has also registered a sack and an interception, both coming in 2004.
At Syracuse, Harris’ 10 interceptions and 19 pass break ups both rank 10th all-time. He ranks second on the career tackles by a defensive back ledger with 327. Harris is also tied for eighth on the passes defended list with 29. In 2001, Harris was named to the All-BIG EAST Second Team.
