Women's Rowing Opens Spring Season In Sunshine State

FELLESMERE, Fla. - The women’s rowing team competes in its first regatta of the spring season when it competes in the Governor’s Cup on Canal 54 in Fellesmere, Fla. on Saturday, March 18. SU is one of five schools competing on Saturday.
Other teams scheduled to compete in the Governor’s Cup include Central Florida, Columbia, Marietta, and Florida Tech, who is hosting the regatta.
The women's varsity eight boat received 18 votes in the preseason USRowing/Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association NCAA Division I Varsity Eight Coaches Poll. That ranks them 23rd nationally among varsity eight boats, tops in the BIG EAST Conference. The Orange is one vote ahead of Notre Dame and seven votes better than Louisville.
Next weekend, SU travels to Redwood Shores, Calif. to row in the Windermere Collegiate Classic hosted by Stanford.
