Track and Field Travels To NC State

RALEIGH, N.C. – The Syracuse track and field squad heads down to Raleigh, N.C. this weekend to compete in the Raleigh Relays hosted by North Carolina State. Competition begins today and continues through Saturday at Paul Derr Stadium. Last weekend at the Hurricane Invitational in Miami, sophomore Jillian Drouin (Corunna, Ontario) broke the Syracuse heptathlon record with 4,954 points.
Also at the meet, junior Aulton Kohn (Beaufort, S.C.) won the 100m dash and senior Joshua Johnson (Columbia, S.C.) took the triple jump title.
Last year at the Raleigh Relays, junior Sheron Mark (Port of Spain, Trinidad) took fourth in the triple jump with a mark of 12.39 meters and sixth in the long jump with a jump of 5.67 meters at the Raleigh Relays at North Carolina State University. Johnson finished sixth in the triple jump. Kohn placed fourth in the 200m dash and eighth in the 100m dash.
Following the Raleigh Relays, the Orange will compete in the Yellow Jacket Invitational on April 1 hosted by Georgia Tech.
