SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Senior Cat Henny (Allendale, N.J.) and junior Katie Schneider (Syracuse, N.Y.) were both named to the Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association (CRCA) Mid-Atlantic All-Region First Team, announced yesterday by the organization. Sophomore Allison Doodeman (Thorold, Ontario) was selected to the second team.
This is Henny’s second CRCA All-Region honor, but her first as a member of the first team. Last season, she was named to the second team. Henny was also tabbed a CRCA National Scholar Athlete for the third time in her career this year. She spent the entire season rowing with the varsity eight, mainly in the eighth seat.
Schneider and Doodeman are both first time members of their respective teams. Schneider split time between the fifth and seventh seat in the varsity eight boat while Doodeman rowed from the sixth spot.
Doodeman is the first Orange sophomore to be recognized by the CRCA since 2003 when Anna Goodale and Lesley Wolf were both named to All-Region teams. Goodale was a first team honoree and Wolf was named to the second team.
The varsity eight finished third at the BIG EAST Championship and placed third in the petite final at the Eastern Sprints.
