NEW LONDON, Conn. – Assistant women’s rowing coach Sarah Cannon is working with the U.S. Junior National Team Development Camp. She is the Junior B head coach, which includes rowers 16 and under.
Cannon and her team have been training in New London, Conn. for the past month, racing out of the U.S. Coast Guard Academy Boathouse. The team is working at the same location where the Women’s Junior National Team trains.
The teams are currently racing at the U.S. Rowing National Championship. Cannon’s Junior B eight team qualified for the final in the Junior A competition, recording a time of 6:47. That is the same time the Junior National Team needs to record in order to qualify for the Junior World Championship.
This is the fourth year that Cannon has been working with the camp. This summer, 2005-06 senior captain Ineke DeSimone has been assisting Cannon and working with the team.
