Women's Rowing Announces 2006-07 Schedule

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – The Syracuse women’s rowing team has announced its schedule for the upcoming season. The Orange returns six members from its 2005-06 varsity eight, including Katie Schneider and Allison Doodeman who earned all-region accolades.
Syracuse will open its fall season at the Head of the Genesee in Rochester, N.Y. on October 8. The Orange will compete in three additional races before returning home to host the Syracuse Invitational on November 4 to wrap up the fall season.
Syracuse will then travel to Melbourne, Florida for its winter training trip. The team will also visit Oak Ridge, Tennessee during Spring Break. Oak Ridge is the site of this year’s NCAA Championship.
The Orange will open its spring season with a trip to Ithaca to take on Cornell and Yale on March 31. They will also travel to Philadelphia to compete with Penn and Northeastern and to Boston for the Charles River Classic.
The BIG EAST Championship will take place on April 29. Syracuse won three-consecutive conference titles from 2001 to 2003. SU will then compete in the Eastern Sprints on May 13 followed by the NCAA Championship from May 25-27. The Orange has qualified for the NCAA Championship five of the past 10 seasons (1997, 2000, 2001, 2002 and 2005).
