Gross Promotes Edson to Assistant Athletics Director

Syracuse Director of Athletics Dr. Daryl Gross announced the promotion of Sue Cornelius Edson to assistant director of athletics for communications. Edson has worked in the athletics department for the past 16 years.
“Sue is really deserving of this promotion,” Gross said. “Her continued loyalty to the Orange, her work ethic and professionalism are admired by all of us.”
Edson joined the athletic communications staff as an assistant director in 1990 and was promoted to director in 1997. She will continue to be responsible for the athletic communications operation, which disseminates information for all varsity sports to appropriate organizations, acts as a liaison between the media and the SU coaching staffs and student-athletes, and maintains the department website – www.suathletics.com. In addition, Edson is the primary contact for the Orange football squad and she participates in department initiatives and fulfills administrative responsibilities.
In June, 2006 Edson received the ECAC-SIDA Irving T. Marsh Award for excellence in the field of sports information. She graduated from Syracuse in 1990 with a dual degree in broadcast journalism from the Newhouse School and policy studies from the Maxwell School.
