Durand Named Scholar-Athlete of the Week

Sophomore Ryan Durand, the starting right guard for the Orange football team, has been honored as the Syracuse University Scholar-Athlete of the Week for the week of Aug. 28.
Durand, a native of Leominster, Mass., was named to the Athletic Director’s Honor Roll in the fall of 2004 and 2005. He was also selected to the BIG EAST All-Academic Team in 2005. Durand is majoring in health and exercise science.
Syracuse opens the 2006 season on Saturday, September 2 at Wake Forest. The game kicks off at 6:30 and can be heard on the Syracuse ISP Sports Network and Orange All Access.
