NEW YORK, N.Y. – Former Syracuse men’s lacrosse All-American Brett Bucktooth was the third overall selection in the National Lacrosse League (NLL) Entry Draft, held in the theatre lobby of Madison Square Garden on Wednesday, Sept. 13. Bucktooth was selected by the Buffalo Bandits.
Bucktooth ranked sixth in the nation last season in goals per game (2.47) on his way to earning second-team All-America honors. He led the Orange with 55 points, including 37 goals in 2006 and helped guide SU to the national semifinals. He finished his SU career with 111 points and 68 goals.
Bucktooth also participated in the ILF World Championship in July, 2006 for the Iroquois Nationals and was named to the All-World Team.
The NLL Entry Draft featured six rounds and 77 total selections. Ryan Benesch was chosen by San Jose with the No. 1 overall pick.
The Bandits' first game is Saturday, Dec. 30 at Portland.
