Orange Wrap Up NCAA Rowing Semifinals

Syracuse women's rowing completed the opening day of racing Friday evening at the NCAA Championships, with all three Orange boats qualifying for Sunday's Petite Final through the A/B semifinals. Racing is being held on Lake Lanier in Gainesville, Georgia.

The Varsity Eight got things started with a fourth-place finish with a time of 6:06.405, trailing third-place Yale by just over one second. Texas won the heat, besting Stanford with a 1.4 second margin.

The Second Varsity Eight also logged a fourth-place finish, clocking in at 6:19.158. Stanford took first, followed by Princeton in second and Yale in third.

The Varsity four finished fifth in its semifinal race with a time of 7:10.778. Stanford won the race, trailed by Tennessee and Virginia in second and third, respectively.

The Orange are set to race in the Petite Finals on Sunday, May 31. The V4 will kick off racing for Syracuse at 9:24 a.m. followed by the 2V8 at 9:48 a.m. before wrapping up with the V8 at 10:12 a.m.
