Fans can learn more about Syracuse quarterback Perry Patterson's summer workout routine on this week's edition of "Syracuse Sidelines". The show airs live on Thursday at 7 p.m. on Time Warner Sports.
Orange head coach Greg Robinson joins host Mark Larson to review highlights from Syracuse's double-overtime loss to Iowa. Coach Robinson will also provide a scouting report on SU's next opponent, Illinois.
This week's Orange Athletics Spotlight features the women's soccer team which opens BIG EAST play on Friday night against St. John's. Game time is set for 7 p.m. at the Soccer Stadium at the Lampe Athletics Complex.
The Orange takes on another Big Ten opponent this week when it meets Illinois at noon Saturday. The game will be televised on ESPNU. Every Syracuse game is broadcast on the Syracuse ISP Sports Network, which is streamed live on Orange All Access. Syracuse has played Illinois 10 times since the first meeting between the schools in 1909. The Orange beat the Illini, 30-20, in Champaign in 1977 for Syracuse’s lone win in the series.
Then the Orange returns to the Carrier Dome for a three-game homestand that begins on September 23 when Miami (OH) makes its third trip to the Carrier Dome. That game will be a re-match of the first game played in the Carrier Dome, which Syracuse won, 36-24, on September 20, 1980. The Red Hawks also played in the Dome during the 1987 season, losing to the Orange 24-10. Syracuse finished the 1987 season with an 11-0-1 record.
