The Syracuse women's soccer team welcomes the Pitssburgh Panthers to the SU Soccer Stadium for a game on Sunday at 1:00 p.m. Both the Orange and the Panthers are looking for their first conference win of the season. The Orange has lost its first two BIG EAST games, while Pittsburgh is 0-1-1. The Orange visited sixth-ranked West Virginia on Friday, losing 5-0. The Orange is also winless at home this season, with losses to St. John's and Colgate last weekend.

"Even though we are only two games into the BIG EAST schedule, this game feels like a must win," head coach Pat Farmer said. "We need to get points during home games. It would be big for us to get through (West Virginia game) down a player and come back with a win against Pitt. They are off to one of their best starts ever and they played very well against West Virginia earlier in the year. We need someone to step up and get a big goal at a big time."
The Panthers (5-2-2, 0-1-1 BE) opened the season with four-consecutive victories, including a 3-1 triumph against Binghamton. After a 1-1 draw against Marshall, the Panthers lost to Ohio and #7 West Virginia in their first BIG EAST game. On Friday, the Panthers tied St. John’s, 1-1. Pittsburgh is sixth in the BIG EAST in points (44) and goals (15) and 13th in goals against average (1.18). The Panther offense is led by senior Corina Sebesta, who is tied for 10th in the BIG EAST in goals (four). Sophomore Jennifer Kritch is tied for the team lead in assists (three) and is second in goals (three) and points (nine). Freshman Alison Finch has started seven games in goal in her first season with the Panthers. She is ninth in the BIG EAST in saves (27) and 10th in saves per game (3.38). Finch has allowed nine goals on the season and recorded her first shutout against Western Michigan.
