During the 2006 regular season Harrison compiled 1,366 receiving yards and 12 touchdowns on 95 receptions. His 1,366 receiving yards and 12 touchdowns ranked second in the NFL while his 95 receptions are the third-highest total. Harrison also became the fourth player in NFL history to catch his 1,000 career pass. He joined Jerry Rice, Tim Brown, and Chris Carter as the only players to accomplish the feat and was the quickest to do so.
This is the eighth-consecutive Pro Bowl selection for Harrison. Only Jim Ringo, Walt Sweeney and Hall of Famer Jim Brown have had more selections have had more selections to the Prow Bowl by Syracuse graduates. Ringo was selected 10 times, while Sweeney and Brown each earned nine selections.
The Orange has been represented in the last 10 Pro Bowls. A total of 24 former SU standouts have been selected to the Pro Bowl 85 times.
While the Pro Bowl and Hawaii are in the near future, Harrison and four other SU graduates are preparing to face the Bears in Super Bowl XLI. Dwight Freeney, Ryan LaCasse and Josh Thomas will all join Harrison on the field in Miami. James Mungro is a member of the Colts but a preseason injury has placed him on injured reserve. Syracuse's five graduates in the Super Bowl are the most of any college.
