
Pace Signs With East Kentucky Miners

SYRACUSE, NY -- Josh Pace, a member of Syracuse's 2003 NCAA Championship team, has signed with the East Kentucky Miners of the Continental Basketball Association. He is the first player signed by the expansion club.
Pace most recently played for the Nelson Giants of the New Zealand's National Basketball League (NBL). He was named New Zealand's Player of the Year and was an NBL All-Star after averaging 19.1 points, 6.6 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 1.4 steals per game. He helped the Giants to the NBL title.
A four-year letterwinner at Syracuse, Pace caped his collegiate career by earning Honorable Mention All-BIG EAST Conference in 2005. He was awarded the conference's Sportsmanship Award as a senior, as well. He played in 129 games at Syracuse and started the final 65 of those contests. Pace averaged 7.3 points and 3.8 rebounds in his tenure. As a senior, he averaged 10.8 points and 5.0 rebounds. The Orange reached the NIT postseason in Pace's freshman year and then made three consecutive trips into the NCAA Tournament with Pace on the roster.
East Kentucky opens its season on Friday, Nov. 16, at Pittsburgh.
