STORRS, CONN. – Senior Cheryl Cobbina tallied her team-leading 13th double-double of the season after collecting a club-best 12 kills and 13 digs in Syracuse’s 3-0 loss at Connecticut on Sunday. Redshirt-junior April Quigley guided the Orange offense with a team-high 31 assists.

Junior Brittany Kern and sophomore Sarah Morton totaled eight kills apiece while sophomore Kacie MacTavish tallied six. Freshman Mindy Stanislovaitis contributed three kills as Quigley posted two. The Orange attack was stymied by a .192 attack percentage.
Defensively, Morton controlled the net for Syracuse with a team-leading five total blocks. Stanislovaitis tallied three total blocks as Cobbina and Kern recorded two.
Senior Joscie Kaup tallied nine digs and Quigley added eight. Sophomore Shanetha McLaurin tallied seven saves.
The Orange found itself at a two-game deficit following narrow 30-26 and 30-25 losses in games one and two, respectively. Cobbina led the Syracuse charge in game one with six kills as Quigley added 11 helpers. The duo combined to pace the Orange defense with a combined 12 digs.
Cobbina and Kern tallied three kills apiece in the second frame as Morton posted two. The Huskies closed out the match with a 30-20 win in game three.
Syracuse returns to the Women’s Building and completes its non-conference schedule against Siena on Tuesday, November 6 at 7:00 p.m. The Orange will look to improve upon its 7-1 mark against teams from the state of New York.
SU wraps up the BIG EAST portion of its schedule at the Women’s Building on Friday, November 9 at 7:00 p.m. against Villanova and on Sunday, November 11 at 2:00 p.m. against Seton Hall.
