Orange Hosts Syracuse Invitational Before BIG EAST Championship

Syracuse, N.Y.-The Syracuse swimming and diving team hosted Cornell in the Syracuse Invitational at the Webster Pool on Saturday, February 10. The event was not scored and served as a tune up for both schools before their conference meets.
On the men's side, Syracuse had several swimmers qualify for the BIG EAST Championship. Sophomores Matt Brock (22.00) and Peter Gollands (22.19) both qualified in the 50 free. In the 200 IM, freshmen Arda Isikslan (1:58.40) and Moshe Kohen (2:00.96) both qualified for BIG EAST, as well. Sophomore Colin Murphy qualified in both the 100 (55.28) and 200 (2:01.27) back events. Freshman Kevin Alland (1:46.21) and Ben Santerre (1:46.03) qualified in the 200 free. Freshman Ryan Corcoran qualified in the 50 (22.08) and 100 (48.15) free.
On the women's side, sophomore Catrina Roth qualified in the 100 fly (1:00.91).
The BIG EAST Championship will be held Feb. 14-17 at the Nassau Aquatic Center in Uniondale, N.Y.
