SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Graduate student Sheron Mark (Diego Martin, Trinidad) has earned 2006-07 BIG EAST/Aéropostale Female Scholar-Athlete accolades. For her achievement, Mark will receive $2,000 toward graduate studies.
Mark earned her bachelor’s degree in biochemistry in three years. She is currently pursuing a master’s degree in chemical engineering. A three-time BIG EAST Academic All-Star, Mark has earned Athletic Director’s Honor Roll accolades all six of her semesters on the Syracuse campus.
Mark is a three-time BIG EAST Champion. She won the triple jump competition at the 2005 Indoor and Outdoor BIG EAST Championships and the 2006 Indoor BIG EAST Championship. She holds both the indoor and outdoor school records in the event, posting a mark of 12.95m in the indoor triple jump and 12.93m in the outdoor triple jump. Mark is also a five-time selection to the BIG EAST All-Conference team.
Mark is also committed to helping better the local community. She is an active member of the Big Brother Big Sister organization.
