Kim Named to BIG EAST Honor Roll

Sophomore Heather Kim was named to this week’s BIG EAST honor roll for her performance during at the Florida State Invitational last weekend. Kim concluded tournament play with a .579 batting average going a combined 11-for-19 with three home runs, two doubles and nine RBI. She also earned all-tournament accolades for her efforts.
Kim went 2-for-3 with a RBI, a run scored and a double in SU’s 6-0 victory against Maine in the first game of the tournament. She went 1-for-3 with a double at RV/25 FSU in the second game on Friday.
Kim did most of her damage during the second day of the tournament. She ended Saturday with a .636 batting average, going 7-for-11 with eight RBI and three home runs in the Orange’s three games.
The sophomore had two RBI, one run and one hit against Georgia State. Kim tallied five RBI, four hits including her second home run of the day in SU’s 13-6 victory against Appalachian State. She added two more hits, including her third home run and added a RBI and two runs in the Orange’s 11-3 win versus Western Carolina in the nightcap.
Kim added one more hit against 23/21 Georgia on Sunday.
She is first on the team with 13 RBI and second with 21 hits, three home runs, 32 total bases seven walks and slugging percentage (.525). The first baseman is third on the team with a batting average of .344 and her on-base percentage of .420 is fourth.
The Orange competes at the Stetson Tournament from Friday, March 16 through Sunday, March 18. SU will compete against Elon and Stetson on the first day of the tournament.
