Orange Sport Spotlight - March 19

Five Syracuse teams competed during the week of March 12-18. The Orange recorded victories against top-10 teams, advanced in national tournaments and recorded wins on the softball diamond. In addition, the outdoor track and field and women's rowing teams open its seasons this past week.
Women's Lacrosse (4-3, 1-1 BIG EAST)
The 11th-ranked Orange won both of its games last week, defeating Towson, 18-10, and then beating sixth-ranked Notre Dame, 16-13.

Women's Rowing
The women's rowing team opened its 2007 spring season in Oak Ridge, Tenn. The Orange scrimmaged Buffalo during its annual spring training trip.

The Orange opened its 2007 outdoor season by competing at the Hurricane Invitational. Senior Aulton Kohn qualified for the NCAA Regional in the 200m dash by posting a time of 21.19.

The men's basketball team advanced in the NIT Tournament by defeating South Alabama, 79-73. Syracuse hosts San Diego State in the second round on Monday.
