3/2/2007 4:10:43 PM | Men's Basketball
New York, NY, March 2, 2007 - Syracuse University men's basketball coach Jim Boeheim will be featured on a new episode of MSG Networks' Halls of Fame, hosted by former major-league catcher Fran Healy, on Monday, March 5 at 6:30 pm. During the half-hour episode Healy speaks with Boeheim about his incredible, and sometimes challenging, career as head basketball coach at Syracuse. This interview airs just two days before the start of the Big East Conference Tournament at Madison Square Garden.
Boeheim is in his 31st year as the men’s basketball head coach at Syracuse, his alma mater. His team's have posted 29 20-win seasons, a mark just one season shy of the record set by North Carolina's Dean Smith. In January 2007 Boeheim coached his 1000th career game, and he is one of only 18 Division I coaches to reach the career 700-win milestone. He has been inducted in the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame, and has guided the Syracuse Orange to three NCAA championship game appearances, including the 2003 title.
Fran Healy sits down with some of the most fascinating personalities in sports for the show Halls of Fame. As one of the longest running programs on MSG, Halls of Fame has been on-air for over 15 years, with Healy having interviewed more than 200 sports legends. Previous interviews include Jim Plunkett, Jackie Joyner-Kersee, Albert Pujols, Bobby Knight, Isiah Thomas, and Chipper Jones, among others.
