Boston, Mass. – The Syracuse women’s rowing team wrapped up play at the Charles River Classic on Sunday. The Orange defeated Boston University to recapture the Kittell Cup and narrowly lost to Texas.

Boston, Mass. – The Syracuse women’s rowing team wrapped up play at the Charles River Classic on Sunday. The Orange defeated Boston University to recapture the Kittell Cup and narrowly lost to Texas.
Syracuse won the Kittell Cup for the third time during the five-year period the Cup has been awarded. The Orange varsity 8 crew recorded a time of 6:52.1, defeating Boston University by nine tenths of a second. Texas finished first in the race, posting a time of 6:50.8.
Syracuse’s varsity 4 and novice 8 crews also emerged victorious. The varsity 4 recording a time of 7:49.9. Boston University finished second with a mark of 7:52.7 and Texas finished last in 7:56.7. The novice 8 crew completed a successful weekend by defeating both Texas and Boston University. Syracuse recorded a time of 7:06.7, three seconds ahead of Texas and 21.3 seconds ahead of Boston University.
Syracuse returns to action in two weeks, competing at the BIG EAST Championship.
