Orange Sport Spotlight - April 23

Six Syracuse teams competed during the week of April 16-22. The Orange set school records, qualified for the NCAA Regional and earned BIG EAST titles during the week.
Women's Lacrosse (10-4, 4-1 BIG EAST)
The Orange won a share of its first BIG EAST regular-season title by winning both of its games this past week. The Orange defeated Cornell, 22-9, and Loyola, 21-6. Against the Big Red, Syracuse set team records for goals in a single season (209) and team draw controls (24). In addition, freshman Christina Dove set a school record with 11 draw controls against the Big Red.

The Orange softball teams split a pair of doubleheaders this past week, going 1-1 against both St. John's and Seton Hall. Chanel Roehner earned BIG EAST Honor Roll accolades for her performance.

Track & Field
The Orange competed at the Larry Ellis Invitational in Princeton, N.J. Junior Kyle Heath set the school record in the 3,000m steeplechase, recording a time of 8:56.92. Heath topped the old record by nearly 20 seconds and qualified for the NCAA Regional.
