SU Alumni Club of Rochester To Host Annual Sports Banquet and Silent Auction On May 16

The Syracuse Universtiy Alumni Club of Rochester will host its 48th Annual Sports Banquet and General Meeting on Wednesday, May 16, 2007 at the Monroe Golf Club in Pittsford, New York. The event will feature a silent auction, reception, dinner, and award presentation. Syracuse Director of Athletics Dr. Daryl Gross, head football coach Greg Robinson and assistant basketball coach Mike Hopkins will also be in attendance.
A highlight of the evening will be the presentations of the Brightman Memorial Award, to an outstanding graduating local student-athlete, and the Mary L. Strong Achievement Award, given to an active club member who exhibits a strong volunteer spirit.
There will be a cash bar and appetizers beginning at 6:00 p.m., followed by a sit-down dinner at 7:00 p.m., where MC Doug Emblidge of WHAM-TV in Rochester will present the awards. This year’s event also features a silent auction, where Syracuse sports memorabilia will be on display. The winners of the auction will also be announced during the dinner portion of the event.
All reservations must be received by Saturday, May 12 to ensure proper planning. There are four dinner choices as well as donation levels on the registration form. All proceeds from the banquet benefit the Alumni Club’s Scholarship Fund. All donations of $100 or more receive a gift of an Alumni Club polo shirt and all donations of $25 or more received a gift of an Alumni Club membership pin.
