Stats From 1990-91 Squad Now Online

Statistics from the 1990-91 Syracuse men's basketball team that won the BIG EAST Conference Championship and earned a spot in the NCAA Tournament are now available on-line at http://www.suathletics.com/Sports/basketball/mbasket/2007/199091mbbstats.asp. The Orange were 26-6 overall and 12-4 in the conference in 1990-91.
Coach Boeheim's 1990-91 squad featured BIG EAST Conference Player of the Year Billy Owens, who led the team in scoring (23.3 ppg.) and rebound (11.6 rpg.) average. Boeheim was the league Coach of the Year, as well.
Owens earned first team All-BIG EAST Conference honors and Dave Johnson was a second-team all-league pick that season. Adrian Autry earned a spot on the all-rookie squad.
Syracuse was ranked as high as third in the Associated Press Poll in 1990-91. The Orange stumbled at the end of the campaign, losing in the BIG EAST Tournament to Villanova, 70-68, and in the first round of the NCAA Tournament to Richmond, 73-69.
